Well, there is another famous stall called the Capitol Satay Celup at 41, Lorong Bukit Cina while the Ban Lee Siang stall (BLS) is on Ong Kim Wee road. Haven't tried the Capitol stall, but planning to this Chinese New Year, a long queue awaits. As for the BLS stall, there are 2 stalls, side by side, rumoured to be owned by 2 brothers who couldn't get along and opened a shop each on their own. The competitiveness of both stall, good for us customers who wants good food. :) I tried both the stalls and felt the shop on the right was slightly better broth wise.
In a satay celup stall, you eat what you want and they charge based on the number of sticks, one stick costs around 70-80cents. There is a wide selection in the fridge to choose from, after choosing place it in the peanut broth, wait till it cooks and there u go, munch ,munch munch.. yummeh!
btw, for people who are worried about cleanliness, satay celup stalls may not be a place to be, as the broth which is placed in the middle of the table, is not replaced between each customer. *you get the picture*
